A study in purple

Got a special request from a neighbour to make up a 50th birthday card. I got very few instructions (my fav kind of card) just that the birthday gal liked purple. As soon as I heard that I knew I was going to use the Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiment violet paper. I was in an "over the top" type of mood  and added lots of layers and thick embellishments - all well and good until I realized I did not have an envelope that the card would fit into! Thank goodness for my We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board. I whipped up a box for the card to fit into. I am pleased to say the neighboorhood saw the card and it got lots of oohs and awes now I have a couple more cards to whip up for people. I am not quite sure what everyone thought I did for a living but people seems amazed that I make cards! LOL
Supplies used: Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments paper and chipboard (small round butterfly buttons), Graphic 45 Secret Garden papers (brown text), Memory Box dies Bijou film strip and flourish, Cheery Lynn Happy Birthday die, Cuttlebug die (50), Graphic 45 Couture Stickers (th), Kaisercraft paper roses, Lavender Stickles and Bazzill cardstock.

Just a quick reminder that Crafty Capers is having their garage sale on Thursday June 12 @ 5:30. If you are interested in putting items in the sale please phone the shop for details 585-0022. Shoppers are, of course, welcome. Sale begins at 5:30 no earlier, rain or shine!

More Thanks

Another thank you card I did recently, this time, for our kitty sitter.
I have wanted this Impression Obsession cat stamp for years now and finally justified it because the cat looks so much like my Budman. ;)
I colored the image with my watercolor pencil crayons and added some Glossy Accents to the fish bubbles (can't see it in the photo, sorry). I used some Authentique pattern paper for the background and another Hero Arts sentiment stamp embossed in white embossing powder. Used up a scrap of ribbon from my stash - yeah!
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Thank You

During our trip to England we stayed with quite a few rellies so I was busy making thank you cards before we left so you will be seeing quite a few over the next little while.
This one I made 2 of so there is one for viewing at Crafty Capers at the moment the other one is now residing in Twickenham near London.
Easy peasy card - I embossed my main card with a Craft Concepts embossing folder. I stamped a Hero Arts thank you stamp with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink (love this color!). Then I used an Elizabeth Craft black peel off on Be Creative tape and Warm Highlight Glitter Ritz glitter. I colored the image with my Copic markers. I colored an extra tulip petal and popped it up with foam mounting tape for some extra dimension. Loved how simple this card is yet looks so elegant.
Thanks everyone for stopping by and hope everyone has a great weekend!

Far and Away...

I have been away in England for the past few weeks and, in fact, am still there! I am up a bit early so thought I would take a few minutes to update the blog.
I made this card almost a month ago for a friend's birthday but with all the last minute travel prep I did not get a chance to get it up on the blog. The colored panel was done on Ranger's Sticky Back Canvas with Distress stains and Gelatos. After I was happy with my colored canvas I stamped and (white) embossed the gorgeous Penny Black stamp "Dreamy" stamp a few times. I added the Tim Holtz sentiment, a metal embellishment from my stash, some May Arts ribbon I stained with some Distress Stain and then added some Memory Box butterfly die cuts.

Thought I would include a quick photo of me at Stonehenge. Quite an amazing place! Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Dragonfly Happy

It's been a very busy few weeks. I've been doing renos around the shop however I have found a few minutes here and there to make some cards. This card I made for a friend who had a big birthday recently. :)
I used a variation on a reflection technique I saw on this blog. I used a Penny Black background stamp to do my reflection then added an Impression Obsession dragonfly stamp and a Cheery Lynn Happy Birthday die. The dragonfly stamp was stamped and then embossed with a new Lindy's Stamp Gang teal embossing powder.
Pretty happy with how this card turned out.
Thanks everyone for stopping by!
